Korean SMSes / Emotions and it's meaning

네! 맞아요.. You read it right, Korean SMSes!! Bet most of us - "Non-Koreans"; would have the same thoughts on these...How Koreans send their SMSes or to be precise what does a certain abbreviation stands for. Bet most of the times our SMSes will look like these: LOL, LMAO, hehe, haha, BRB, TTYL, etc....
Recently, I got to learn more on this topic & had a rapid test though TTMIK. Thanks Guys! ^^

Let's go guys..가자! Learn some EMOTIONS! =)

We often find laughter the most in our SMSes (haha, hehe, keke, etc..), it's no different here as well. Notice this ㅋㅋㅋ before?! 


We will learn more thru a few question below. See how much you understand:
1. What does ㅎㅎ means?
2. What does ㅇㅋ means?
3. What does ㅜ.ㅜ represents?
4. What does ;;; represents?
5. What does ㅇ means?
6. What does ^^a represents?
7. What is ㄷㄷㄷ?

Answers:
Answer 1: Haha
Explanation 1: ㅎㅎ comes from 하하 which represents laughter. 

Answer 2: Okay
Explanation 2: ㅇㅋ comes from 오기, which is a short form for 오게이 (Okay).

Answer 3: A crying face
Explanation 3: ㅜ.ㅜ represents a crying face with tears flowing down the cheeks from two eyes.


Answer 4: Embarrassment 
Explanation 4: ;;; represents sweat as it shows one's embarrassment. It's the same as what we wrote as "swt" or ==".


Answer 5: Yes
Explanation 5: ㅇ comes from the word 응 (eung) means 'yes'.


Answer 6: A smiling person scratching their head
Explanation 6: In ^^a, the letter 'a' represents a hand & finger scratching one's head. 


Answer 7: OMG
Explanation 7: ㄷㄷㄷ comes from the word 덜덜덜, which describe a way in which someone shivers or trembles from shock or amazement.

Laughter can also be written as below:
ㅎㅎ, ㅋㅋ, ㅍㅎㅎ
--> ㅎㅎ comes from the word 하하. Represents the sound of laughter "haha".
--> ㅋㅋcomes from the word 크크크. Represents the giggling sound "hehe".
--> ㅍㅎㅎ comes from 푸하하. Represents the sound of laughter "Muahaha".

^o^  excited face
ㅡ.ㅔ represents a face of someone who is not excited & has long hair covering the face
-_-   sad face
ㅠ_ㅠ crying face
ㅎㅁㅎ singing face
ㅉㅉ  represents disappointment or sympathy 


I had a fun time learning this, especially with "ㅡ.ㅔ"...I really LOL after reading the explanation!  So next time don't be a stranger to these emotions! =)
